Lamborghini Jarama S 1972 – 193500 EUR – Holandia

If we look at Lamborghini‘s history, we quickly agree with each other. The Italian brand, which started with tractors, has made amazing creations so far. Fantastic designs, beautiful engines, lots of excitement and, in short, everything is in harmony with each other. Do you remember the Lamborghini 350 GT? Lamborghini built several GTs where the engine was equipped with beautiful front-mounted V12 engines. That started with the 350 GT. Then came the 400 GT, the Islero, the wonderful Espada and then the Jarama.

We’re going back in time, to 1970 to be precise. Lamborghini had the Jarama completely ready to launch at the Geneva Motor Show. The idea to name the latest creation Jarama came from a specific river in a region in Spain. This region is known for the bullfights. Lamborghini used the Espada as a basis, but shortened the wheelbase. The master of car design, Marcello Gandini, was asked to design the bodywork. Gandini is world-famous, partly for the legendary design of the Lamborghini Miura. What immediately catches the eye are the headlights, only partially shielded. We are fans of the Jarama!

The Jarama remained in production until 1976 and received some modifications in 1972, as the GTS. The car was given a 3,9 litre engine with 365 hp. Lamborghini built a total of 327 examples, of which only 150 were in the GTS version.

Our Jarama in Brummen is in very nice condition and the last owner owned this car for twenty years, and used it for various events. A truly beautiful colour scheme that fits beautifully with Gandini’s lines. The colour, Antille Verde, looks very good and is the same colour as it was originally delivered from the factory. It is also important to mention that this is an original Jarama S. This makes it one of the 150 examples ever produced. This is an absolute rarity.

A beautiful car and in neat condition; that’s how we can briefly summarize this Jarama S. The entire mechanics has recently been overhauled by a recognized and well-known Lamborghini specialist. The body still looks very nice, with correct fitting body panels. The chrome on this car looks good, just like the windows, mirrors and rims. The interior is very original, and we find beautifully shaped seats, as only Italians can make them, made of fine leather and in very good condition. Have a look at the pictures to get an idea. A sleek headliner, neat dashboard, beautiful clocks and carpets in good condition.

Technically speaking, this Jarama S is in good order, and it is also a nice driving car that we would like to see more often. With this Lamborghini, we supply a very large folder full of invoices and documents, including the original brochure. From the documents, we can conclude that the car was maintained excellently, and various technical components were improved, such as the braking system and cooling system.

This example has a five-litre engine, the same engine that was used in the Countach 5000s. The documentation shows that there is certain evidence available that this is a ‘factory special’, in other words, that this Jarama was originally supplied with this engine, but we cannot guarantee that this is actually the case. What we can guarantee is that this car drives excellently and has a lot of power. Simply amazing how this Lamborghini drives.
